TherapyCloud Community Standards

People come to TherapyCloud to connect with a compassionate community that supports their mental health and well-being. We know that not everyone has the same opinions, but we expect everyone on the site to treat one another with the honesty and respect that this integrated platform is designed to offer.
To make sure all community members, both clients and therapists, are on the same page (pun intended!), the following are our community standards for interactions on TherapyCloud. Above all, use common sense and err on the side of not doing something if you are unsure if it is a violation of any of our Policies or Standards.
Relevance: Your contributions should be appropriate and specific to the topic. For example, reviews are not a place to rant about political ideologies, business practices, extraordinary circumstances, or other matters that don't address the core of the experience. Offer feedback about something specifically and then move on. For clients, help us to keep content relevant by only sharing feedback about experiences that have occurred within one year (i.e., the last 365 days). For therapists, this means keeping appointment, licensure, contact, and insurance information up-to-date and notifying TherapyCloud immediately if any relevant changes would affect the Services available to clients.
Accuracy: Feel free to leave detailed information about what you like or don't. However, unfounded accusations, claims, or exaggerations are not helpful. You are responsible for the accuracy of your content. Due to this, you will be held responsible for anything you post. TherapyCloud may also investigate accusations or claims and remove access for those who are not contributing to accurate, objective content. For clients specifically, you are expected to book only the appointments you plan to attend to both respect the time of the therapist and others seeking services, in addition to arriving on time. Providers are also expected to arrive on time. All community members are expected to make every effort to honor their scheduled appointment time. If you cannot attend a scheduled appointment, it is your responsibility to contact the other party with as much notice as possible. If patterns of non-attendance persist, TherapyCloud reserves the right to limit or discontinue your access.
Inappropriate content: Colorful language and imagery are understandable. However, TherapyCloud will not tolerate threats, harassment, lewdness, hate speech, or any other displays of prejudice by any of our community members, whether client or therapist. TherapyCloud also reserves the right to take down any content we feel would not be in line with the expected compassionate communication.
Conflicts of interest: Your contributions to our interdisciplinary community should be unbiased and objective. For example, reviews of your own business/employer, your friends' or relatives' business, or reviews of your competitors should be avoided. In many circumstances, soliciting reviews from clients is actually prohibited by a therapist's code of ethics. So, let us do the hard work of soliciting for feedback for you. And don't attempt to prevent reviews from being public that you would not appreciate. If someone posts feedback you don't like, maintain both privacy and respect by not taking any unlawful or unethical actions against that person's opinion for any reason.
Privacy: You have a right to post whatever information you want. We also want TherapyCloud to be a vibrant, supportive platform on which people can collaborate for all sorts of support. However, remember that the internet is a public forum. And, while TherapyCloud is a private custom-build website site that takes your privacy seriously and has many security precautions, digital communication is never guaranteed to be successful or secure. Therefore, as is outlined in our Privacy Policy and Community Standards, for your own privacy, it is expected that you do not include any Protected Health Information (PHI) (e.g. symptoms, diagnosis) in any communications with or through TherapyCloud (e.g. "Contact This Provider" form)
For clients, we protect your privacy by ensuring that the only "identifying information" for any publicly posted ratings unless you choose to append your display name. However, you are expected to neither publicize someone else's private information nor violate anyone else's confidentiality in any way.
For therapists specifically, you are responsible for knowing and following the applicable to your credential(s), which includes the secure storing and privacy of Personal Health Information (PHI). This means not sharing any identifying information about a clinical interaction that could potentially be traced back to a specific client. We all know what HIPAA is (if you don't, here's a link!) So, don't violate it. If you do, your rights to participate within the TherapyCloud community may be removed in order to eliminate the risk of others' privacy being violated. Again, use common sense and err on the side of not posting if you are unsure if privacy is at risk.
Promotional content: Let us do our job and focus on the promotional material. Please help to keep the site useful for community members by not overwhelming it with extraneous communication.
Post your own content: Do not take content from other sites, users, or businesses, including TherapyCloud itself. You are expected to share content that is solely your own, which also means avoiding things like AI tools to aid in content creation.
Fraud: It is expected that users never personally do or instruct other users to do anything that would violate TherapyCloud's Community Standards, Terms & Conditions for Use, or other Policies, any state or federal law, or any licensure considerations. It is also expected that no one uses TherapyCloud's trademark, logo, or intellectual property without prior written consent or that they present themselves as a representative of TherapyCloud. Additionally, payment for Services is expected, and any actions that prevent payment (e.g. fraudulently disputing) are prohibited. For therapists, you are not to charge fees exclusively applicable to TherapyCloud users (e.g. a booking fee), pass on any part of your TherapyCloud fees to other users, attempt to divert TherapyCloud users from using the platform as intended, or instruct community members on tactics to avoid incurring fees (e.g. insurance copays). While TherapyCloud does not provide billing instruction, TherapyCloud also does not encourage or condone any behaviors that are fraudulent, such as inaccurate or unethical insurance billing practices.
If you have any questions or suggestions about our Community Standards, the practices of this site, or your dealings with this site, please contact us at hello@therapycloud.com.
